Beautiful baby A'ryiah

Oh this sweet little girl stole my heart the moment I laid eyes on her.

There is a lot of misconception about when a baby is too old for newborn pictures. A lot of photographers say within the first 2 weeks. And while that works because they are obviously more sleepy when they are younger, it isn't always the case. Covid has changed the world of photography in many ways and especially the Newborn Photography industry. A lot of parents are staying home and sheltering their tiny babies from all of the yucky germs floating around.

This wasn't necessarily the case with Miss A'ryiah because she came earlier than expected - 5 weeks early actually. Her mother, Dacia, told me that she came so early that she got to attend her own baby shower. That doesn't happen very often. Waiting on a baby is like watching water boil; it takes forever. But I know her sweet mommy was so excited to meet her earlier than expected.

Dacia found me through a friend; word of mouth is mostly how my business runs. She drove almost an hour and a half to bring A'ryiah to her newborn session. Sometimes I get clients from afar but most are local but I always enjoy finding out how clients from out of my area hear about me.

Dacia told me she just LOVES when A'ryiah pokes her little lips out and I am so excited that I was able to snap that photo of her. I knew that I wanted to do bold colors for her. I mostly stick with neutrals but her beautiful complexion called for bold colors especially right here at fall/Christmas. She was the perfect little baby. Aside from one little spit up accident that pretty much covered me (it's pretty much in the job description these days. lol), we had a great session. She slept for most of it and was awake for just a few as well. As long as babies are calm, I'm totally cool with them being awake, even though the best are when they are asleep. I sure do love good eye contact from them.

I cannot wait to watch this beautiful baby grow!

I hope you enjoy these sweet little shots of A'ryiah as much as I do.
